DeLallo San Marzano Style Crushed Tomatoes are hand-picked and harvested in the Naples region of Italy. The tomatoes are then steam-peeled and crushed into small pieces. Crushed tomato pieces are smaller than diced tomatoes and are packed in a tomato puree. They are packed fresh within 48 hours of harvest to preserve color, texture and most importantly, flavor. The consistency is pourable but with small chunks of tomato that break down with some simmering, so it’s great for homemade pasta sauces, pizza sauces and soups.
